Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Responsibilities:

Becoming a champion for analytical enhancements, data sanity, and process improvements
Developing database solutions to store and retrieve information
Migrating data from legacy systems to new solutions
Designing conceptual, logical data models, and flowcharts
Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements
Completing product pricing updates and maintenance for 3BG Sales Team
Analyzing large, complex systems to determine performance bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency
Capturing and analyze database activity to identify improvements in indexing, file structure, maintenance processes, and query performance
Conducting periodic assessments of security, backup/recovery, performance, load, and stress testing
Creating a product database and integrate live feeds from suppliers
Coordinating with the software team to identify future needs and requirements
Developing and maintaining system architecture and support documents
Maintaining and expanding expertise in one or more technical skills through continuous self-study, training, and certifications
Mentoring other team members on the latest industry tools and techniques
Creating advanced reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards in our CRM
Understanding and querying disparate database sources, including relational structures, dimensional data marts/models and cubes
Reviewing and ensuring data security standards are implemented, including role-based security, encryption, tokenization, and obfuscation
Recommending solutions to improve new and existing database systems
Installing and organizing information systems to guarantee company functionality
Bringing data fragments into the database from different sources across the company

Requirements & Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s / Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
5+ years of data engineering/data architecture experience
Comfort in a fast-paced startup environment
Analytical mind, critical thinker, problem-solver and experience working with large complex data sets
Excellent communication skills
In-depth understanding of database structure principles and experience with data modeling, large-scale batch, and real-time data processing, ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
Advanced PHP knowledge
Extreme preference for those with an understanding of large SKU-count e-commerce platforms with faceted search
SQL Server that runs on AWS
Project Samples: Must provide 3 samples of code upon applying
Need 200-300 lines of sample T-SQL code, procedures, functions, etc
Knowledge of PHP required
AWS Certifications - AWS Certified Big Data Specialty desired
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including readiness, provisioning, security, and governance preferred (but not required)
Data Warehousing solutions and in-depth knowledge of database architecture
5+ years min experience with AWS (S3, EC2, etc.)
Project Samples: must provide 3 samples of code upon applying
Proficient in Excel, including VBAs and advanced functions


Education:

Bachelor’s / Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred
